I thought I better explain a few things as to how Sergeant Mathos is personalised. First of all the name Mathos in an anagram of my surname Thomas, and I have often used it as a name for characters I’ve made in the past, be it in computer games, my inquisitor for my daemonhunters army, etc. Secondly Alpha and Omega his two weapons, these are named because I have a tattoo on my right hand that is the two symbols intertwined to make a single Alpha Omega Symbol. Last of all he has flamers and he and his squad have preferred enemy against Tyranids because I am a Tyranid player and have been for as long as I’ve played 40k, so I believe I could defeat just about anything a tyranid player could throw at me if I was to play another army. - Alpha & Omega: Sergeant Mathos uses his personally crafted hand flamers Alpha & Omega. He created the weapons during his wars against the Tyranids, which are significantly more powerful than a standard hand flamers. He designed them to work individually but can combine streams of promethium to increase the potency of the weapons. Sergeant Mathos can choose to fire either two individual templates at Strength 4, AP5, or a single template at S5 AP4. They also count as power weapons in close combat The extra attack for two hand weapons has been included in the profile above.
- Scourge of the Hive: Fighting the Tyranids for so long has honed his skills in combating them. Sergeant Mathos and any Squad he is in command of have the Preferred Enemy special rule when fighting against Tyranids
